Content:
Language: several minor swear words, a few uses of "s", several uses of "f."
Violence: there are several violent and gory similes and metaphors (including her chest being shot, someone sawing through and bashing her head open). Without spoiling too much, there is also a fire with severe consequences. This isn't violence, but this book also deals with trauma and some substance abuse (alcohol, medication pills).
Sex: a few mentions of sex, though nothing is explicitly said about it. There are also several kisses and romantic pining between the main character (Cadence) and one of the other Liars (Gat, the only one who isn't her cousin), but because of the writing style, nothing is very detailed.
LGBTQ: Not present
My Review: While this book had too much language for my taste, it was very well crafted and an intriguing plot (the blurb doesn't tell you much, I know, but there is a plot). The writing style did get on my nerves sometimes. It was a very artistic prose, with short sentence fragments that could get a little confusing at times. There are also time jumps that you need to watch out for or else you might be thinking something is happening in the present when it actually happened in the past.
